Just wanted to report the same.

Ack. Most hosts who run Debian are not dualboot and just don't care
about os-prober.

Nope. You're not alone.

In that sense: Ping! (to the grub maintainers :-)

P.S.: This also affected Debian Stable from June to August this year
until the patches luckily were reverted there.
