Unable to boot with --removable option

Hello,
This is Danny. I'm sending this e-mail because I found that USB thumb drive
won't boot correctly while grub-install with -removable option.
Reproducing:
# suppose that your USB thumb drive is on /dev/sdb1 and already formatted to
fat32
sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt
sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --removable --efi-directory=/mnt
--boot-directory=/mnt
sudo umount /mnt
The same command I tried in Ubuntu (2.06-2ubuntu7.1) works fine. Not sure
what's going on here?
