Can I somehow help to solve a debian-grub bug?

Dear Maintainer,

There is a bug in the grub package that repeatedly hinders me for quite 
some time now: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=848945

As far as I can see there has been no reaction or comment from a 
maintainer on the debian bug (or from a grub-developer on the upstream 
bug).

Also the required fix is pretty trivial. I've packaged one of them, 
which seems the best solution to me, as a pull request: 
https://salsa.debian.org/grub-team/grub/-/merge_requests/66

Can a grub-maintainer please help me to get this resolved? The bug is 
open since Dec 2016 so it's about to celebrate its 8th birthday. I'd be 
happy to help with any testing/discussion or any other way, to help to 
get this resolved.
