Hello Fab and Pascal,
yes, this (bug 1110446) seems to be a duplicate of [1], and yes,
echoing something before switching to the graphics mode (comment 2[2])
indeed also fixed it. I left a comment under [1].
To your previous question, Pascal: no, in the installed system this
does not happen. But something with "Thinkpad" seems to briefly get
printed there also, just before Grub switches to the graphical menu.
