Can I somehow help to solve a debian-grub bug?

Hi,

Based on your suggestion I tried to to raise this issue upstream again, but there was no response at all [1]. It also seems that this was attempted before where there was at least a reaction, but eventually interest died off [2]. I don't know what I am doing wrong, and I don't see a way to move forward upstream. In general, the mailing list does not seem that responsive to outside contribution suggestions.

As this is a simple change, not even in grub itself, but only in the supporting shellscripts, maybe adding a debian/ubuntu patch could be reasonable? Ubuntu already has a rather large patch in that area, that fixes this issue as well [3]. As they actively support ZFS, it's pretty reasonable that they improved that support. That patch that I am suggesting [4] is essentially just a single line.

Kind regards,
Felix Dörre
