Hmmm, that seems odd. I've just tried and failed to reproduce this
using qemu/kvm and 16G of RAM, so this seems like a VMware-specific
issue. I'm curious: do you see a similar issue if you install another
distro, or using the Debian 13 (Trixie) RC1?
