Hello,

I would also appreciate an update of this package.

The git version isn't even required, there is an official 0.7.9x release which works fine.
I am using the ubuntu packages for lucid at the moment, since the debian package in sid is not up-to-date and does not work at all as said before.

By the way: The gtkpod/libgpod mailing list is just a mess, as you can see here:
