[Pkg-gtkpod-devel] Maintaining libimobiledevice and related packages

Hi,

in the last few days I worked with the libimobiledevice package and it
looks like it could get a bit more love from its maintainers. My
impression is that the same is true for the other packages maintained
by pkg-gtkpod-devel. Even critical breakage is unhandled over months,
NMUs got lost and lintian and the automatic QA tests are somewhat unhappy, too.

I use libimobiledevice as well as ifuse/usbmuxd with 2 iDevices and I think
that won't change in the near future. I read that Chow Loong Jin
doesn't use iDevices which makes the package hard to test. So I offer
my help with maintaining those packages. As my key is in the Debian
keyring, I'd be glad to get upload permissions for the packages
mentioned above.

My plan is to prepare a new libimobiledevice package to fix #840931
(which I already have a sponsoring offer for), and libplist to fix
#851196 (both for Stretch), as well as a lot of cleanups suggested by
the several automatic QA tests for the time after the Stretch release.
If you would like to have some insight in my packaging work before
granting upload permissions, I'd offer to prepare a new version of each
of the packages and send it to you for review.

Regards,
Tino
