I can’t reproduce it here, ghc 7.6.3-3, on amd64.

Does this occur with every Haskell program compilation, or just this?

There might be differences in Ubuntu's toolchain. Maybe some of the
Ubuntu developers on the Debian Haskell Group can check if they can
reproduce it?
