doctest (and more general, the interpreter) has been plaguing us since
years, and it has never worked flawless. Unfortunately, only very few
of us know about arm-specific compiler details (I don’t), so given that
we do not even know the precise cause, I don’t expect a quick fix.
Maybe erikd can give a better assessment.
