Bug#1135669: Accents missing on man page

I doubt this is a pandoc issue (at least with the current release, which may be newer than Debian's).

In my man page viewer, the man page generated by pandoc contains the accents.

The raw man is

\f[CR]fr\-u\-kb\f[R]: French with \(lqbackwards\(rq accent sorting (with
\f[CR]coté\f[R] sorting after \f[CR]côte\f[R]).

Is it possible that your man page viewer doesn't handle UTF-8?
