I am 100% behind totally stripping out the script stub, doing our own
extraction, and managing our own .desktop/menu integration. This is the
best solution I can think of and leaves us with the most flexibility.

In fact, at some point I had made a fork of make-jpkg which did this. I
have since lost it. But I can redo it.

I however have no idea about the legality of this.
