I have a pretty big "alteration" of java-package I'd like you to
consider. I did it to solve some specific problems, and im not TOTALLY
satisfied with it. I am going to keep working on it though.
I split out the a separate subdirectory packages/ which contains the
postinst and postrm scripts. To each of these subdirectories I added a
debian/ dir, which lets you add files which should be merged into the
installation tree of the generated package.
packages is installed into /usr/share/java-package/packages. It needs to
be present during the build of the packages, etc.
0.13 was just released adding support for Blackdown 1.4.2. I could not
find the changes required to merge into mine. So this package DOES
regress on that.
This should fix up the alternatives not being created (#266671).
Also, I did some futzing with the scripts to link
JAVA_HOME/jre/.systemPrefs to /etc/java/systemPrefs. This means settings
stored using the Java Preferences API should be properly saved in /etc.
I also made a .desktop file for Java Web Start, for sun1.4sdk. I would
like this file to be generated automatically for every JVM, instead of
hard coded as it is, and I will be working for that.
There are a bunch of changes, and it seems to me more efficient to link
to my new source packages than to generate a .diff, so I am doing so.

I also have a lot more planned. Please advise. ;0
