After installing the packages blackdown-j2sdk1.4 and 
blackdown-j2sdk1.4debian (from sid) there is a dangling symlink/alternative

/etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so ->
/usr/lib/j2sdk1.4-blackdown/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so

the correct target should be

/usr/lib/j2sdk1.4-blackdown/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/libjavaplugin_oji.so

blackdown-j2sdk1.4 was build with java-package Ver. 0.14 and the
upstream sources j2sdk-1.4.2-rc1-linux-i586-gcc3.2.bin from blackdown.
