Beanshell 2.0

Hi all,

I currently work on a beanshell 2.0 package as I need it
as a dependency.

I would like to discuss how it should be done as there exists
a bsh package (Version 1.3) already.

As I am not 100% sure it will be fully backward compatible, it
should maybe packages as replace / beside the current package.
I looked in the website, announcements and mail archives but
there is nowhere an explicit statement on backward compability
with the 1.3 release.

Possibilities are:

- Package as new upstream - replacing bsh (v 1.3)
- Package as new package - conflicting with current bsh
- Package as new package beside the existing package and
therefore provide a bsh2 package with a bsh2 shell script and
a bsh2.jar library - which can exist side by side as long as
they are not used both on the same classpath.

Currently only jed depends on bsh.
Can anyone confirm if it works / compiles against the 2.0
beta release ?!

Suggestions / Comments are welcome !

Regards,

Wolfgang
