This has been implemented in java-package 0.18, just uploaded. Users
still see the warnings, and the registring stuff is not performed at
all, but during package build time, nothing evil can happen since it is
ensured make-jpkg is not invoked as real root.

Of course, still improvements are welcome, but this should aliviate the
most urgent issues and at least allow the package to get in sarge.
