| Description: Java applets don't work if package "netbase" is not
installed. In this case, any java
| applet will show up as a blank box with an red "X" on top left corner.
|
| How to reproduce:
| - Create a package with java-package.
| - Install the created package.
| - Remove package "netbase".
| - Using a java enabled web-browser, go to
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
| - Will get "Loading Java Applet Failed..." on status bar.
|
| Proposed fix:
| Packages created with java-package should recommend or suggest package
"netbase".
|
| I'm using:
| - Kernel 2 2.6.8-2-k7
| - libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20
| - java-package 0.20
| - Sun JRE: jre-1_5_0_02-linux-i586.bin (create
sun-j2re1.5_1.5.0+update02_i386.deb)
| - mozilla-firefox 1.0.1-2
| - netbase 4.20

Rencel,
~ Thank you for this comprehensive and well-structured bug report.
Unfortunately, I do not have an x86-based installation to
verify/reproduce this. I hope to have it in the near future and will
attempt to reproduce the issue. If I can get another developer to
reproduce the issue before then, we will include the fix in the next
possible release.
~ Thank you for your interest in Debian.

Regards,
