Thanks for the report. I wanted to do this since a longer time. I
splitted off the GTK and QT peers into seperate packages
(classpath-gtkpeer and classpath-qtpeer) with the classpath package
recommending the GTK peer package as its the default peer anyway.
It also suggests the QT peer package. With this in place most apt
clients (at least aptitude) will do the right thing and install the
classpath-gtkpeer package with classpath. Experienced users can
switch to classpath-qtpeer package if they want.

I will upload this soon to experimental.
