The error is:

    Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to initialize character 
    set mapping tables at 
    com.mysql.jdbc.CharsetMapping.<clinit>(CharsetMapping.java:73)

This has been reported by numerous people, all seem to use Debian.
