Hello Andreas,

I can't reproduce your problem: setting HTTP port 80 in server.xml works
for me...

The init script (run as root) is using jsvc to bind to the privileged
port and then drop privileges to the tomcat6 user...

Using jsvc leads to a whole lot of problems (like the strange
permissions on log files) but I kept using it in the packaging just so
that we could run as an unprivileged user without the usual drawback of
doing so.
