Totally agree with you. I resolved this problem in a wrong way.
startGroovy should locate java instead of javac to build the
JAVA_HOME variable or we just should set JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/default-java.

I'll revert that change and fix startGroovy script accordingly.
