Thank you for the detailed bug report. I have just pushed to the pristine-tar
branch which should now reference 691804925b14beb54c460c65b7a302839fdd440b and
not 5ec6a70228e6466f25eae0b22d3ddc798f103a47.

The former is the following commit:
