2.9.3 is supposed to support building without ant.  I looked at it a
while ago, and it isn't quite that simple.

lwjgl3 is also available, but it has a huge dependency stack with
almost none of it in Debian yet.

I have less interest in lwjgl now than I used to, and I may not be
able to find the time to work on it.
