Bug#871669: maven-debian-helper: building the documentation takes too long, dpkg failed to execute successfully

Hi,

I am filing this bug report to keep track of a build issue with
maven-debian-helper. Building the documentation takes too long in some
cases because mdh tries to find installed documentation with dpkg
--search but fails if it can't find anything and this whole process is
repeated multiple times for different doc packages and directories.
(e.g. libtwelvemonkeys-java but I have seen more extreme cases)

We have talked about this before (and the not so serious) suggestion was
to disable building the documentation alltogether. We also talked
about this at DebConf 17. There are use cases where it makes
sense to have the javadoc locally available hence I suggest to improve
the build time of mdh in this regard.
