Thanks, good to know. I've already done adaptations since the upstream
pom suggests an 1.7 version. I've redirected this to 1.8 using
maven.rules for building on jessie and stretch.

I know that. My intention was to build my package for all releases using
the maven-helper provided by debian and to refrain from patching the
original pom.xml.
