Note the “its” here. “It” being the package. Not an older upstream
version of the package that happened to have roughly identical
upstream sources.

Are you fucking kidding me? I’m contributing a lot to Open Source,
both upstream and downstream.

Or do you mean “contribute something Java” instead? Sure, I can
just team-upload the package to fix this bug, if you want me to
go on doing this kind of bugfixes under the team umbrella…
