I noticed that this package was added to the dla-needed.txt listing, so
I already began working on it yesterday.  I had already planned on
pausing my work shortly, so if the maintainers would like to take over I
am happy to provide the patches I have backported so far.  If not, then
I will resume working on this in a few days' time.
