I conduced a few test builds with and without the patch and the
resulting debdiffs look as expected. I just uploaded this to
experimental as 2.6.3~exp1 and pushed the patched sources to the Salsa
in the debian/experimental branch. Once bookworm releases, I will merge
back to the master branch and upload for trixie.
Thank you for the patch Alexandre, and to Jochen Sprickerhof for fixing
the FTBFS.
