I feel "should" is a too strong word. Independently(!) from how
upstream choose to compress their code, we have some options in Debian
for doing so. Recently those options was expanded to include uglifyjs,
and it seems to me that currently that one offers the most reliable and
effective compression.
So I encourage the use of uglifyjs generally for JavaScript in Debian -
but not because upstream does so.
