Great!

I will happily sign your key - as I will the keys of any Free Software
enthusiast asking politely about it. Key signing is *not* about the
quality of your your work, but solely about *identifying* of you.
Personally I require not only that you show me your passport, but that
we spend some time together to get to know each other a bit - e.g. an
hour of working on some project together or eating lunch together. You
are quite welcome to pass by my home in Mørkøv, Denmark, or to reach me
at other places when I go travelling.
Each individual choose personally the requirements of trusting
identification, but the (very!) common approach includes physically
meeting and presenting a government issued identity paper. I very
strongly recommend against asking for key signing in unusual ways,
especially when you are new to the concept: Follow common practice!
I hesitate more about advocating you, because that is about supporting
your claims about being skilled technically, and really I feel I know
you too little yet to judge your skills.
Don't get me wrong: I do not say that your skills are weak, only that I
cannot really judge if they are, so it would be wrong of me to advocate
you: There is more to advocating than a Facebook "Like" button :-)
I sincerely hope that those you've worked closely with agree with your
own judgement of skill level and will advocate you, and that you become
a Debian Maintainer as you want.
Regards,
- Jonas
