[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#687052: possible work-around found

after going through the log and the npm documentation (especially its
config option: npm help config), the following succeeds:

npm install -g --user 0 redis

this works around the default value of this configuration parameter...

   user
       ·   Default: "nobody"

       ·   Type: String or Number

       The UID to set to when running package scripts as root.
