Thanks for re-sending back my own patch :)
Unfortunately, as you can read in [0], [1] and [2], upstream rejected the 
patch and is working on something more general.
As this is now taking a bit too much time, I'm inclined to add it to the 
debian package, as it fixes that specific regression without other failures.
