[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#786429: libjs-bootstrap requires newer (non-packaged) version of jquery

Package: libjs-bootstrap
Version: 3.3.4+dfsg-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

the packaged bootstrap requires jquery version 1.9.1 or higher, but in
sid only 1.7.2 is available.

The freedombox project uses libjs-bootstrap for the admin interface
(debian package 'plinth'). Using it gives the following javascript error:

"Error: Bootstrap's JavaScript requires jQuery version 1.9.1 or higher"

Dropdown menus and probably all other javascript functions don't work
currently.

Packaging a new jquery version should fix the problem;
I don't know anything about packaging, but perhaps it'd be good to have more
specific dependencies on the jquery package (i.e. >= 1.9.1) to avoid unintended
upgrades of libjs-bootstrap which might break the functionality.
