[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#836415: nodejs: SIGILL when running nodejs

Package: nodejs
Version: 6.0.0~dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am unable to run nodejs at all on a PowerBook G4 12", because of an illegal
instruction. This is true for both the version in "sid" (4.x?) and
"experimental" (6.0.0)

"cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep cpu" returns:
cpu : 7447A, altivec supported

Here is some debugger output that someone suggested I send with my bug report:

(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/nodejs
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/powerpc-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".
[New Thread 0xb7fba450 (LWP 1712)]

[New Thread 0xb6fba450 (LWP 1714)]
[New Thread 0xb67ba450 (LWP 1715)]

Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
0x6007e388 in ?? ()
(gdb) x/i $pc
=> 0x6007e388:  fcfid   f1,f1
(gdb) x/x $pc
0x6007e388: 0xfc200e9c
(gdb)

I am glad to supply more information if necessary - I am a competent Debian
user but I do not know very much about debugging this sort of thing.

Thanks,
Sam
