"HTMLMinifier is a highly configurable, well-tested, JavaScript-based
HTML minifier."  It claims to minify better than the alternatives--see
the table in the README.  It's also recommended by a number of best
practices guides, such as Google's PageSpeed documentation [1].

This should be a fairly straightforward Node.js package, although it
has some dependencies that will need to be packaged first.
