After failing in 2017 to get a Debian-based JavaScript front-end
development setup working, I tried again in the second half of 2018 and
found it was *much* better.

With NodeJS, ReactJS, Webpack, Babel, and several ES6-translation tools
installable from Debian, it was feasible for me to get set up and
freshen my web skills.

It's good to be able to avoid, at least in some measure, the security
tragedy that is most of the advice to modern web developers.

It has been demonstrated more than enough times that I should not trust
npm with installing applications on my workstation, so Debian packages
make my work much better.
