Yes, it's still a dependency of the current yarn.
It's one  of those tiny modules we now embed, but since we already have it I'd rather keep it.

The test failure is due to my incorrect patch from ava t.throws to nodejs assign.throws and can be easily fixed:

I have also upgraded it to 3.0.0 which officially supports nodejs 10.
