I think getting these to work with babel 7 will be a better approach, 
there may even be newer upstream versions that works with babel 7 or 
upstream may be interested to update to babel 7.

Any more effort spend on babel 6 is wasted effort in my opinion as we 
should try to remove babel 6 from bullseye.
