...and in the aftermath of said breakage you shared more generalized 
opinions, which is what I replied to.

I did not mean to imply "you are doing it all wrong, Xavier" but instead 
"we should all be more cautious now".

If I read correctly between the lines that my post demotivated you, 
Xavier, then I apologize for that - it was certainly not my intention.  
On the contrary, I highly appreciate your trawling through our big pile 
of packages - just please apply extra caution now, like all in Debian.
