I am not offended.

Reason I emphasize proper use of communication channels is that I want
to encourage getting more actively involved in Debian.

If someone joins maintenance of a package and then later move on to work
on different things, they should not be bothered with issues in that
package they once helped out with.

Let me repeat: I am *not* personally offended here. No apology needed.
Personally I have spent quite some time learning how to manage spam and
other types of email noise, but would hope that others would need less
work in that area, would prefer emails like yours not treated as noise.

In short: I think it is most efficient for us all that we use the proper
communication channels.

Very true, and the reason I recommend filing a bugreport!

Mailinglists are for discussions, not for tracking issues.

If you have an issue you want to discuss, then file the issue and
discuss it. That way it stays an issue even if you are alone in wanting
to discuss it.
