Could you try aurel32 tips:
 <aurel32> rouca: it's not obviously linked to libc
[16:34] <aurel32> rouca: about gcc, we have a very low ISA baseline on
i386 compared to what is usually used. Might be worth trying to
rebuild it with -march=pentium4 or something like that
