I don't know of a way.  I can't even see how much RAM that buildd has [1].
This is going to be even more of a problem in Ubuntu.
I know the amd64 buildds there currently only have 4GB of RAM and I
have seen a few scientific packages that need to have parallel builds
disabled in Ubuntu otherwise they run out of memory.  I would prefer
not to have a delta between the Debian and Ubuntu versions of Julia.
