This is caused by /etc/init.d/console-screen.sh and
/etc/init.d/console-screen.kbd.sh having the same “Provides:
console-screen” line—which makes sense, but does not work as config
files are not removed by default.
I’ll see about sorting this out by changing the init script header to
something unique; until then, you can
sudo aptitude purge console-tools
to solve the problem locally.
