Thank you for your report.  I’m afraid that I cannot reproduce the issue
on the machines I have access to right now, so I’d like to ask you for
some extra information.

  * Have you made sure that this was not some transient issue that
    coincided with your configuration change (i.e., did you try
    rebooting and the problem persisted)?

  * From your description it doesn’t necessarily follow that this bug
    indeed involves xorg; it appears more likely that some init script
    was hanging before that, and your display manager never got the
    opportunity to start.  Does the CUPS startup succeed?  Can you make
    the init process continue by pressing Ctrl-C?  The output of

      ls -1 /etc/rc2.d

    might also be interesting.

  * An exact copy of your /etc/kbd/config could be useful as well.
