So apparently this is something that has already been discussed in

followups to that)....

... and it seems my ideas more or less lines up with what Michael
Schutte suggested in the above url and Anton Zinoviev seemed to
be on board with the ideas as well.

I'll have a look at implementing the removal as soon as I find some
spare time.
