I took a conservative route here (like several rmdirs instead of rm -r)
I.e. if README gets removed in next tarball (as I suggested to Tom),
the build fails and I can cleanup the rules.   Because make install
is always run before the README file should always there.

-f is of course the more painless solution ;)
