However the 'official' hoary, breezy and dapper at 
http://packages.ubuntu.com/digikam are all <= 0.7.4

I'm not keen to muck up the numbering if it doesn't effect the official 
upstream archives from debian and ubuntu...

I would expect the users of your repos would be smarter than the average 
user...
