Hello:

Version 0.6-1 is dated March 2005. I wonder why you were on such an old 
version by then where the testing version was, what is now on etch, 0.8.3-1.

Once you are on a up-to-date version, please open a terminal emulator 
(konsole), issue following command:

ps aux|grep kaffeine

and attach its output.
