it's not reproducible on my configuration.

Could you give me your libfam0 version, it's missing on the bug report:
dpkg -l *fam*

Kaffeine uses xine backend, is it reproducible using xine-ui ?

Have you got fam installed ?

please run kaffeine in gdb:
type "gdb --args kaffeine --nofork", then "run"
do the necessary steps to reproduce the hang
press ctrl+c
type "thread apply all bt" and attach the output here.
