I have also been unable to activate the Search Bar extension.  I recently
updated my system from KDE 3.5.9 to the lastest Sid packages and am using
the Kaboom migrated settings.  I've tried disabling and enabling the
extension as suggested in the thread but the extension will not appear
in Konqueror.
